WHATS NEW: The Flying H Ranch has undergone some major changes in the last few years. We have relocated to the historic town of Cottonwood, California. Cottonwood is an old cowboy town where working ranchers and horsemen still reside and is home to one of the few remaining livestock auctions left in the state. The Flying H is located just west of town in a beautiful and peaceful rural area, while still being close in. We are only 9 miles off of Interstate 5 making for easy access to our clients.
We have just installed an eight stall barn for our mare and stallion clients. It is very horse friendly and safe with tall divider walls and screened in panels. Stalls are 16' x 24' and have automatic waterers and feeders. This barn will be extremely versatile for foaling, mares and foals or stallions. We also have plenty of pasture and turn-out space. As we expand the ranch facilities, we will continue to post our progress.
Over the last few years we have continued our breeding program and are very excited to have some new stallions to add to our stallion roster. We have never faltered on our mission to promote the working foundation Quarter Horse with conformation, size and color along with quiet, willing attitudes. ABOUT US: The Flying H Ranch is based out of Cottonwood, California which is approximately two and a half hours south of the Oregon border. Owner, Kris Higgins has been actively involved in the equine breeding and ranching community for over 30 years and is always eager to share her knowledge with her clients. The Flying H Ranch is proud to stand at stud, TIVIO LEO REED, AQHA Bucksin Reserve World Champion Stallion, IMA SPLASH N TEDDY, APHA/AQHA World Champion Sire and BUCKAROO PLAYBOY, AQHA Buckskin Stallion by AQHA Multiple World Contender Buckaroo Bueno Chex out of an own daughter of Freckles Playboy. STALLION SERVICES: In addition to standing quality AQHA & APHA stallions for your consideration, we also offer "Stallion Specialties", mobile stallion collection, shipping and artificial insemination services for clients standing stallions on their own ranches or wishing to use our facilities at the Flying H Ranch. We are the only mobile unit operating in the Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama, and Glenn counties. Other services include client consultation and education on training and shipping semen as well as mare reproduction education and services.
SERVICES: The Flying H Ranch provides quality breeding services for the Stallion and Mare owner. Stallion Owners may benefit from any of the many services offered from total stallion marketing packages, web design and maintenance to stallion training, semen collection and shipping. We are also a full service shipping and receiving station. See our Services Page for detailed descriptions of services offered.
HORSES FOR SALE: We offer horses by some of the fine stallions listed along with some other quality horses. Our breeding program focuses on quality big boned, cowy and correct working Quarter Horses. Bloodlines include most of the Top Ten Ranch Horse Bloodlines* in the American Quarter Horse industry. Most are rope horse prospects and are started with this in mind.
